Ard Alata Oil services Company has completed a contract by Basrah (BGC) to install a 20 inch tie-in valve and tee connection via hot tap to the 36" South Rumaila gas gathering headed - North Rumaila NGL plant pipeline.
This project was awarded in April 2017.
The project involved;

Supply of all materials, equipment and specialized manpower needed for the project.

Carry out a risk assessment, work Procedure and developing a work Safety Plan.

Perform WPS/PQR/WTQ for in-service welding.

Perform excavation, trenching and shoring to provide safe access for NDT activities.

Locate a suitable hot tap point, site/surface preparation, UT check for actual pipeline wall thickness, calculate and confirm flow requirement, fit up and support of split Tee.

In-service welding of split Tee by prequalified welders.

NDT for in-service welding – DPT + MPI.

Erect scaffolding for easy access to hot tap valve and mounted equipment.

Installation of a ball valve on the split tee.

Installation of hot tapping machine and hot tap execution.

Pipeline painting & Construction of a valve pit.
The project was completed successfully ahead of scheduled time without any incidence.
